Development progress of two new H.O.G. Chapters from the Southern Tier,
NY Chapter
Thank you all for
contributing your thoughts to the re-organization of STNY HOG. As you are
aware, final decisions rest with each of our sponsoring dealer’s
presidents. After much consideration and listening to your input, Dave and
John have moved to grow two new Chapters, in order to better serve and
create more riding opportunities for the Harley Owners in our area.
Here is what we know to
date:

the dealership.
Gowanda H-D Meeting.

Due to inclement weather north of Gowanda, a follow-up organizational
meeting will occur on Feb. 4, 2010, 7pm at Gowanda H-D. If you are
interested in being an officer, or know someone who is, please bring it to
John’s attention. A discussion on training and further planning is also
scheduled.
HOG Regional Manager, Dan Mattais, presented an excellent overview and
insight into the simple philosophy of riding and having fun.
He also clarified that all Chapters are governed by the Annual Charter
for H.O.G. Chapters.
Will file for Chapter re-name
Tentative meeting schedule will be 1st Thurs. of each month at
the dealership.
Brian LeBarron returns as Editor Both Chapters will be
seeking more officers for secretary, treasurer, road captains, safety
officer, photographer/historian, chaplain, etc. Enthusiasm for riding and
the willingness to work with others is a must. Training is available for
the rest of the details. Please let your respective dealership know ASAP if
you are interested.
Your current STNY HOG
membership and dues are good thru March 31. You will receive one final
newsletter late February. Inside will be membership applications for both
Chapters. You may join one, both or neither. Local dues will remain $20
per member for each Chapter. You must be either a full or associate member
of national H.O.G. to join. Dues cover the administrative duties and
subsidize some activities of the Chapter.
The STNY HOG website will
go off-line March 31.
Funds remaining in the STNY
HOG treasury after March 31 will be divided equally between the two new
Chapters.
Remaining STNY HOG
merchandise will be sold at a discount and/or written off.
Both dealerships, Chapters,
and its members continue to share a strong and positive relationship with
each other. We highly encourage opportunities to share ideas and the
occasional ride.
The official launch of the
new Chapters are tentatively April 1, 2010.
