What's Happening at Gowanda Harley-Davidson

For years the ‘old barn’ has graced the back of our dealership shirts. It’s here, behind the family home, where the late, John S. Reid established Gowanda Harley-Davidson in 1947. It has become a symbol our country roots and hometown values.

We are proud to present a new rendition with John S. Reid’s 1935 Harley-Davidson® VL parked next to his shop. Please visit our featured t-shirt tower display in the MotorClothes® Merchandise Dept. and own a piece of Gowanda Harley-Davidson heritage.

Harley-Davidson announced a new limited color option on select 2007 models designed specifically for our men and women in the Armed Forces. Vivid black paint with patriotic red and blue pin stripping (except VRSCAW and FLHX), plus an American flag on the rear fender are the signature of a Patriot Special Edition motorcycle. Owners can personalize their fuel tank with a jeweled badge specific to their branch of the military.

Patriot Special Edition motorcycles are only available to active, veteran and retired military, active and inactive Reserve and National Guard personnel, as well as the above immediate family members.

Patriot Special Edition motorcycles are also limited to a select few models and priced similar to that of a like solid color model. Visit Gowanda Harley-Davidson to discuss which models are available. Orders must be received by Gowanda Harley-Davidson no later than January 1, 2007.

Harley-Davidson® bike owners can further show their patriotism for our Armed Forces through the Genuine Motor Accessories Military Collection which features derby, air cleaner and timing covers for each branch.

Gowanda Harley-Davidson Breaks Ground On Expansion

August 28, 2006  Gowanda, NY – Gowanda Harley-Davidson has broke ground on a new 3,600 sq. ft. showroom expansion in response to an increase in demand of new and pre-owned Harley-Davidson® motorcycles.  The addition will nearly triple the size of the current showroom.

“As motorcycling becomes more popular and we continue to grow, we are committed to providing our customers with an exceptional Harley-Davidson experience,” says Gowanda Harley-Davidson president, John M. Reid.  “Part of that is our pristine location near Zoar Valley.”  While many Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country have relocated near an Interstate to construct new facilities, Gowanda Harley-Davidson remains where it was founded in 1947 on Gowanda Zoar Road.  “We are proud to have the opportunity and customer support to continue to grow and keep talented employees in Gowanda,” continues Reid.

Architectural and design plans were a joint effort between Gowanda Harley-Davidson and the Retail Environment Group at Harley-Davidson Motor Co. in Milwaukee, WI.  In keeping with the wooded surroundings of the dealership, a log sided exterior will match the existing building.  Inside, natural lighting will highlight subtle wood trim and create a comfortable atmosphere at the additional sales desks.  Construction on the expansion is expected to continue through early next Spring.  Local building contractors and suppliers are being utilized whenever possible to further promote jobs in the area.

Founded in 1947, by the late John S. Reid, Gowanda Harley-Davidson is located at 2535 Gowanda Zoar Rd. Gowanda.  The facility features new and pre-owned Harley-Davidson® motorcycles, Genuine MotorClothes® riding and casual apparel, Genuine Motor Accessories customizing parts and a team of factory-trained service staff specializing in routine maintenance, customizing and performance building.  Six siblings manage the family owned business today and employ a workforce of 20 full-time and part-time staff.  For more information about Gowanda Harley-Davidson check their website at www.gowandaharley.com or visit anytime Tues.-Wed 8:30am-5:00pm, Thurs.-Fri. 8:30am-8:00pm and Sat. 8:30am-3:00pm.
